The AND Festival is the major 2012 gathering of Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania. Gathering together in May has been the ‘Main Event’ for us for many years. Over the last ten to fifteen years we have varied its emphasis from year to year, from a completely ‘AGM’-style dialogue to almost totally ‘inspiration’ events.
Next year it will be five years since UnFreeze:3. In 2012 it is time to again focus on encouragement, inspiration and motivation; to celebrate our unity and interdependence (our affinity…); and also to receive new resources and tools to support the building of communities of hope and compassion.

- AND participants will have the opportunity to suggest themes and issues that could become Motions to be considered at a duly constituted Special General Meeting, being planned for November 2012. Churches will be given ample time in advance of this meeting to consider matters for discussion and decision. On both Friday and Saturday Lynette Leach will provide a Theological Reflection: ‘What is the Spirit saying to the Churches…’

- AND is planned to conclude on Saturday afternoon to enable regional participants to return before Sunday, so the Celebration event is planned for the Friday night of AND.
- Special group rates will be available for churches, for groups from regional centres, and special arrangements will be made for those only attending AND’s AGM component (but most will not want to miss the whole day!).
- Early bird rates finish on February 24.
- Time will be provided on Saturday to complete necessary AGM matters. This will include interaction with Partner Departments and the adoption of those reports requiring formal adoption.
Council understands that this will be less time than has been available at other times. Two Special General Meetings are therefore being planned for 2012 however to ensure there is ample time for churches to interact with important themes, topics and resolutions. The first of these Meetings will be to resolve the proposed Affinity process.
As always churches and their members will be free to engage Council and Partner Department personnel in advance of any Meeting to address questions of clarification or of content of any published report.
