Animate Summit

Grace Church, 21 Koomba Road, Wantirna; and Foothills Conference Centre, 48 Edinburgh Rd, Mooroolbark.

Each year we gather as a movement to connect across neighbourhoods and be encouraged in the work of the Kingdom. In May 2017 you are invited to be a part of Animate Summit.

This is an opportunity to celebrate who we are together as a movement, and who God is calling us to be together.

For those travelling, or those wishing to take advantage of Summit as a retreat space, accommodation is available on site at Foothills Conference Centre for the duration of Summit, and is a short drive from Grace church in Wantirna. Accommodation is offered in twinshare rooms and all meals are included, with costs subsidised by CCVT. Accomodation booking is included in the registration process.

Registrations for Animate Summit will open soon.

This year's Summit will be broken into four major events over three days.

Thursday May 4

Leaders' Electives – As part of our mission to explore new ways to develop Leaders to lead in Communities of Hope and Compassion, we are offering a number of Leaders' Electives during the day on Thursday May 4. All Leaders are invited; Ministers, elders, board or council members, youth, children, and families leaders, worship leaders, and administration staff. Workshops and electives on a range of relevant topics will be made available.

Venue: Grace Church, 21 Koomba Road, Wantirna.

Sons of Korah Concert – A public worship and reflection event with Australian musicians Sons of Korah. Sons of Korah give new musical life to the words of the ancient Psalms with an acoustic multi-ethnic sound leading listeners into deeper connection with the Psalms. This event is open to everyone.

Venue: Grace Church, 21 Koomba Road, Wantirna.

Friday May 5

Leaders' Summit – Continuing on from workshops and electives the previous day, Leaders will gather to connect across neighbourhoods and build on the mutual interdependance of our movement, and to be encouraged in God's mission in their neighbourhoods. Input will include Andrew Menzies, Principal of Stirling Theological College; Bekkii Scott and Laura Young, Boronia church; and Sarah Backholer.

Venue: Foothills Conference Centre, 48 Edinburgh Rd, Mooroolbark.

Saturday May 6

Churches' Summit – New affiliates will be welcomed, newly ordained minister-leaders will be commissioned, and the work of God in and through our movement will be celebrated. The Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania Inc Annual General Meeting will also take place, including elections for the CCVT Board, and the release of the Affinity 2 discussion paper.
