On International Women’s Day, St Kilda Gatehouse had its first 25th Anniversary event. Attended by over 100 people, this event was an opportunity to thank many individuals who had been involved in the organisation. Of those attendees the Gatehouse team were particularly honoured that Jess, from Hope Street in Sydney, was able to attend. Hope Street has a women’s program very similar to that of St Kilda Gatehouse’s Drop In Centre on 36 Greeves Street.
In the formal proceedings of the evening, new CEO Penelope, took the opportunity to thank the first three CEOs/Directors. Moses for unlocking the Gatehouse, Jim for holding and protecting the Gatehouse, and Sally for opening more doors and expanding the programs' reach.
It was at this event also that St Kilda Gatehouse officially launched its 2017-2019 Strategic Plan, which included four new strategic directions:
- Serve: Deliver high quality services
- Connect: Build stronger partnerships
- Promote: Raise awareness of St Kilda Gatehouse’s impact
- Thrive: Secure a sustainable future
You can download and read the Strategic Plan here. For other photos from the night please visit Gatehouse's Facebook page.
The Gatehouse team is very grateful to Churches of Christ Vic/Tas for their support over much of these 25 years. It is through partnerships such as this one, that the Gatehouse team is able to raise more awareness of the work of St Kilda Gatehouse.
