CCVT is a member of the National Council of Churches in Australia Safe Church Training Agreement.

CCVT recommends that all leaders and volunteers including pastors, elders, deacons, leadership teams, ministry leaders, pastoral carers and those working with children & youth attend a Safe Church Awareness Workshop as a pre-requisite to ministry in the local church.

Topics include:

  • Foundations and principles of a safe church
  • Protecting vulnerable people—definitions, indicators, and response procedures
  • Information about training, recruiting, and supervising safe leaders
