Horsham: Flood Relief Children's event

A Story - Flood Relief at Horsham

Earlier this year Churches of Christ Vic/Tas sent a cheque for $500 to support a community event that would encourage us after the floods at the start of the year. When I first received I wasn't sure what I would do with it, believing & hearing that we had enough resources, support was happening through the community.

Enter Operation 19:14, a vision by one of our Children's Ministry Workers, Mark Busbridge. He gathered a team together, laid out the vision and together they put on a free family event on Sunday 28th August. It is based on Matthew 19:14, in seeing children hear the good news of Jesus. 

The event was a collaboration with the local Uniting and Lutheran congregations and received widespread attention in the lead up and while this followup article is only brief, it does give an indication of how well the event was received by the local community.
