Ongoing support of affiliated Communities of Hope and Compassion is a central part of who CCVT is, working to develop renewal, resilience, and ongoing growth in diverse communities across Victoria and Tasmania.
Deeply embedded within the DNA of CCVT is the desire to be a movement of communities that reflect the diversity of the various environments of where we find ourselves. This naturally means that we are called to discern the opportunities and risk the planting, nurturing and growth of new Communities of Hope and Compassion.
CCVT has had a long history in working with affiliated communities to demonstrate in concrete and practical ways of the love of God in action. Communities are the hands and feet of Jesus at work in local neighbourhoods.
We believe that CCVT will be doing better at building Communities of Hope and Compassion and developing Leaders to lead them when each place of ministry and mission affiliated with CCVT is a Safe Place for everyone to grow in their discipleship of Jesus, and in their relationships with one another.
The Communities Team is here to support your Community of Hope and Compassion as it explores its God-given calling to its neighbourhood.
CCVT is committed to our churches and agencies being safe places for everyone. New and updated policies and resources are being made available.
Churches of Christ aim to have mission as a priority, being a sign, witness, and foretaste of the Kingdom of God.
Communities Of Hope And Compassion (which may look like churches as we have known them, or may take the shape of home-churches, mission agencies, or something entirely new) are central to the mission and ministry of CCVT. The Communities Functional Area Team exists to build up communities in developing renewal and resilience, new communities, and engaging with their local neighbourhoods.
