Good Friday

Wednesday, 5 April 2017

Prepared for 89.9 Light FM for Easter 2017.

My guess is many of us have heard these words before: "God so loved the world that he gave his only son." Good Friday tells the story of the greatest gift of all.

Some say the greatest gift is friendship, good health, family, being believed in or being remembered, or even the capacity to forget. To others surprise, imagination, music, a beautiful view, a peaceful garden, or even life itself is the greatest gift.

Among many possibilities, these are all great gifts. So are faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love.

Good Friday shouts out to us the good news of the greatest gift of all.

God so loved…he gave…

The greatest gift of all is that Jesus died on the cross for everybody everywhere. He died to open the pathway for everybody to reconnect with their Maker, through faith. He died for people as if we were his friends, even though we often act like his enemies.

I invite you today to accept the greatest gift of all: God’s love, and hope, in Jesus.
