Each Affiliate is required to appoint a Safety Contact Person to be the local point of contact for any concerns about safety.
This responsibilities of the role may vary from church to church depending on church or agency size, relevant skill sets of leaders, and the administrative setup of your organisation. Many churches have chosen to appoint two people to this role, a male and a female. Keep in mind also that it doesn’t need to be someone already in a leadership role. In fact, the nature of this role means it is often suited to people who aren’t already busy with additional responsibilities. It is more important that they be approachable, calm, mature, and good under pressure.
