LifeGate Church | Assoc. Pastor (Youth & Young Adults)

LifeGate Church in Melbourne is looking for a full-time high-spirited individual with a passion for discipleship and for leading youth and young adults to develop and strengthen their relationship with God. The person in this role will be encouraged to reach out to the parents of the youth in the church as well so that there is clear communication and connection between ministry and relationships with the families involved.

As an overview, some responsibilities of the Associate Pastor (Youth & Young Adults) are:

  • Lead our youth and young adult groups to know, love and serve Jesus
  • Assist the Senior Pastor to fulfill the vision and mission of LifeGate Church
  • Oversee Youth & Young Adults, Worship Services, and Communications & Special Events ministries
  • Communicate Biblical truths to our youth and young adult groups weekly
  • Provide pastoral care in times of need and disciple them to become resilient believers
  • Establish and oversee an effective youth and young adult leadership structure
  • Work with church leadership for planning retreats, outreach activities, and mission trips
  • Attend and contribute to church staff meetings
  • Preach on an occasional basis

You must have:

  • Deep love for God and desire to see His plans realized in the current generation of young believers
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Empathy and genuine love for others
  • Minimum of Diploma in theology or ministry, or equivalent
  • Minimum two years (full-time) of leading youth and young adults
  • Must have an authentic, active walk with Christ and exhibit Christ-like character
