LifeGate Church | Assoc. Pastor (Children & Young Families) Position Available

LifeGate Church in Melbourne is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor (Children and Young Families) who will partner with other Pastors, Ministry Leaders, and the Senior Pastor to serve the vision of the church. We are looking for someone who is committed to the gospel message, has a passion for the next generation, and has strong relational skills with a pastoral heart. 

As an overview, some responsibilities of the Associate Pastor (Children & Families) are: 

  • Preach on a rotational basis 
  • Oversee Children & Young Families, Outreach, and Equipping ministries 
  • Help lead Sunday school classes and leadership training sessions 
  • Recruit and train volunteer staff to serve effectively and grow spiritually through serving 
  • Identify and train leaders to serve and lead in the children and family ministry 
  • Have active communication with parents and foster a culture of family discipleship 
  • Provide and create materials that will help guide kids and young families to grow into spiritual maturity 
  • Attend staff and leader's meetings 
  • Other duties as needed 

You must have: 

  • Deep love for God and a strong commitment to personal spiritual growth 
  • Strong relational skills and capacity to work with children and their families 
  • Must live public and private life of an exemplary mature Christian 
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theology or ministry, or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years (full-time) of ministry experience in children’s and family ministry or similar 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Strong operational and management skills
